Mafia-Linked Drug-Trafficking Network Dismantled In The Canary Islands

A joint operation between Spanish and Italian anti-mafia investigators, along with Europol, seized 700 kilos of cocaine and four men with connections to the ‘Ndrangheta and a Balkans cartel were arrested.

Among the men are two Italian nationals, a Croatian, and a Serbian who operated from a Polish-flagged sailboat to smuggle drugs from Latin America, investigators said, adding that the suspects had “a high standard of living” despite not being employed, and were concerned only with maintaining the vessel.
