Group of about 500 migrants spotted near El Paso border, primarily from Venezuela

A large group of migrants was seen on the border wall between El Paso and Ciudad Juarez Monday morning. Officials with Border Patrol said the group is on the south side of the border barrier near Fonseca Drive.

Border Patrol officials said that members of the group crossed the U.S./Mexico boundary line and made an illegal entry into the US.

The group is comprised of single adult males and family units primarily from Venezuela. They will be transported to a U.S. Border Patrol processing facility to be processed.

City of El Paso officials said the region is seeing an average of 1,200 migrant border crossings per day.
