U.S.-Mexico border sees record crossings in September

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported a record high of 269,735 migrant encounters at the southern border last month alone.

“In response to high rates of encounters across the southwest border in September, CBP surged resources and personnel,” said the CBP in a statement released alongside its September report. “CBP’s message for anyone who is thinking of entering the United States illegally along the southwest border is simple: don’t do it.”
