So much for national security. Two U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers: Farlis Almonte and Ricardo Rodriguez, have been charged with accepting bribes to literally wave illegal immigrants through the San Ysidro checkpoint, one of the busiest land crossings in America.
How did they coordinate this operation? Simple, human traffickers just texted them. And in return? “Large, unexplained cash deposits” popped up in their bank accounts like magic. Surveillance footage shows vehicles full of undocumented migrants sailing through inspection with a friendly CBP nod.
While the White House lectures Americans on border integrity and security, the system is rotting from within. This isn’t a one-off, five officers in San Diego alone have been busted in the last two years for similar smuggling and bribery schemes. One even got 23 years in prison for drug trafficking.
Welcome to the Banana Republic of America: where borders are guarded by criminals, and law enforcement sells sovereignty to the highest bidder.
